Where did Japan get their stock of uranium???

Kazakhstan plans to capture 40% of Japan's uranium market

Kazakhstan is planning to boost its uranium exports to Japan and increase its share on the Japanese uranium market from the current 4% to 40%, the Kazakh foreign minister said on Wednesday.
Kanat Saudabayev said in an interview with Japan's Nikkei news agency that the basic principles and areas of bilateral cooperation in civilian nuclear power engineering were defined in an intergovernmental agreement signed between the two countries in Tokyo on March 2, 2010.
"It [the agreement] allows for the expansion of the sphere of interaction. In particular, Kazakhstan is interested in obtaining nuclear power technologies from Japan," he said.
A package of documents signed between Kazatomprom, Kazakhstan's national operator for the import and export of uranium, and Japanese companies stipulated broader cooperation in the nuclear fuel cycle, he said.
"The implementation of these accords will make it possible in coming years to increase the share of Kazakh uranium products on the Japanese market from 3-4% to 40%, of which about 30% will be highly processed products," he said.

  2. An article from WIKIPEDIA," The worldwide production of uranium in 2009 amounted to 50,572 tonnes, of which 27.3% was mined in Kazakhstan. Other important uranium mining countries are Canada,Australia,Namibia,Russia, and Niger".
Means no uranium production from Asia region.

    Kazakhstan exports uranium to Japan,
Japan shares nuclear technology with Kazakhstan.
    Its all about sharing.

many country move toward to the nuclear energy!
malaysia also move on to it! we also maybe can generate money from the nuclear power. although we dont have these type of raw material, maybe we can sell our power generated to the nearest country like thailand..

  7. hye..
now we can see that japan and khazakhstan have made their move. How about Malaysia?
to sapik, I don't think Malaysia will do that first. maybe thailand will export their power to Malaysia. In fact, Thailand is still in front compared to Malaysia in term of this nuclear technology.
    correct me if i'm wrong.
Sorry, this is just my opinion.

  9. hello

i agree with rafiuddin, statistic shows that thailand is so far better than malaysia in term of nuclear energy. Malaysia should have acted more wisely and quickly so we did not miss too much from other countries who have started taking steps to deepen their technology on nuclear energy field.

    thanks

Kazakhstan is certainly well ahead of Malaysia, opportunities like this must be grab and if Kazakhstan can do it why don't our country.
We need to colabrate with other countries which has the expertise and sources for nuclear energy.

  18. it is a good move for Kazakhstan to increase its share on the Japanese uranium market from the current 4% to 40%. And i think Malaysia isn't ready yet to get on a deal like this. because they have to educate the public about the nuclear power and bring some specialties to Malaysia then they can find some people who can work in this major. and they have to find a huge space for this nuclear reactors to start its work. but from what i saw in these blog-spots, they are really working hard and a lot of people here have learnt somethings that they didn't know about the nuclear power before so as me.so Malaysia u have to make it faster.
